Margaret Batjer Plays Bach on the Milstein Strad

Margaret Batjer – accomplished violin player who tours the world, concertmaster with The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and curator of LA Strad Fest – came by to tell us about Stradivarius violins.

She brought along a very special instrument known as the Milstein Strad. The violin is 298 years old, and worth about eight million dollars – and she was kind enough to break it out to play a bit of Bach, just for us.

Listen here to the full recording of Ms. Batjer’s performance in our studio (Bach’s “Partita No. 2 in D Major: Sarabande”).  Can you hear, as she puts it, the sound of ‘diamonds’?
