Panda Bear Teaches ‘Boys Latin’

Noah Lennox, aka Panda Bear, hit the big time in the early-2000s with the Baltimore psychedelic indie rock band Animal Collective, but he always maintained a solo project alongside his collaborative music-making. The songs on his newest release, "Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper," began taking shape while he was working on an Animal Collective album in 2012, but continued to evolve over the ensuing years. Always inspired by experimental and electronic music, on this album, the now Lisbon-based Mr. Lennox brings in more retro-hip-hop oriented sounds, citing Q-Tip and J. Dilla among his influences. The LP will be released on January 13th and he will be making an appearance at the Coachella festival in April.
